Monsuno Entering the Anime and Trading Card Arena
Nicktoons will be debuting Monsuno on February 23. So tell you anime and gaming fans in the library to check their local listings for the time. If you remember the reason gamers will be interested is because it will be supported by a CCG that Topps Cards will be distributing so the gamers will want to check out their local card show and the cards will more than likely be in department stores as well.

Yu-Gi-Oh Tournaments Starting
For gamers in the Atlanta, Georgia area get ready to duel. The Yu-Gi-Oh Championship Series is coming to your area for it’s first tournament of 2012, February 18-19. It will be held at the Georgia International Convention Center. Be sure to let your gaming patrons know and it might be an opportunity for your library to hold a local tournament event, for the one’s that can’t go to this big event.
WoW more Trading Card Gaming
Crytozoic Entertainment is planning on releasing two new World of Warcraft Champion Decks, this Spring. The decks will be 60 cards each with a suggest retail price of $11.99. If you have an WoW players in your library you might relay this information if they don’t already know about them. If nothing else it will give you some talking points with your gamers.
Pokemon’s Next Expansion Set
The next expansion set for Pokemon is Pokemon: Black & White – Next Destinies. Let your gamers know that the set is scheduled for release on February 8. The card that everyone is more than likely be looking for is the one pictured above, Mewtwo-EX.
Are You Getting Hungry
WizKids is planning on three new games based on the bestselling novel Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and the upcoming movie based on the young adult novel. The first two games will appeal to a hard core game collector. The games are The Hunger Games: District 12 Strategy Game and The Hunger Games: Jabberjay. Jabberjay is a card game, but it doesn’t sound like it is a TCG. The last gaming set is The Hunger Games: Collectible Figures. This set is prepainted miniatures of character likenesses from the movie. It is unclear if these will be for a miniatures game by itself or if they will be part of one of the other two previously mentioned games. I would expect the mini-figures to be similar to the HeroClix gaming pieces. Time will tell, with each game having an early March release date.
New Yu-Gi-Oh Cards
Konami will be releasing the next Yu-Gi-Oh booster packs this coming January. The title of the Booster set is Order of Chaos and will be a 100 card set to include: 8 Secret Rare; 10 Ultra Rare; and 14 Super Rare Cards. Be sure to let your gamers know so they can start planning their budget.
New Pokemon to Catch
Your gamers will be interested in this news. If they are Pokemon players an new expansion deck will be available in February of 2012. The title of the expansion is Pokemon: Next Destinies and will have two theme decks to purchase at $11.99 and booster packs at $3.99. Codes will be available in both theme decks and booster packs to unlock virtual cards to play online.
Magic the Gathering Promo Card
Librarians let your gamers know that in the second issue of the new Magic the Gathering comic book series, published by IDW Publishing, will have a game card with the comic. Most of your serious Magic players will probably know this, but it can still be used as a talking point.
Hidden Arsenal to be Revealed Dec. 6
Konami will be releasing Yu-Gi-Oh: Hidden Arsenal 5, Steelswarm Invasion on December 6. This booster set will have 60 cards and they will all be foil cards. These were previously available at Duel Terminals, so let your gamers know to keep their eyes open at their local hobby shops.
