Shadows Over Camelot: The Card Game, by Days of Wonder, is one that libraries that have a strong gaming community might want to consider picking up. The game can be played by 1 up to 7 players and is a stand alone game that lasts about 20 minutes. So this would be great for a gaming day in the library. New TCG for Marvel
This might be one Trading Card Game libraries will be interested in that have gaming collections and tournaments. Upper Deck is working on a Marvel Universe deck building game. It is being designed by Devin Low, formerly of Magic: The Gathering. This game is fairly familiar in that players will battle each other, but it has one twist, the game itself has built in villains that attack the players trying to destroy them. No release date is scheduled yet and the working title is Legendary.
More Yu-Gi-Oh Cards
Here is some information you will want to pass along to your TCG gamers, especially if you have a club that meets at your library to play. Konami Digital Entertainment has released information on the rest of the years Yu-Gi-Oh products: August 28 will see the release of the booster set Return of the Duelist; October 16 is the release of the Structure Deck Realm of the Sea Emporer; and December 11 is the release of the booster set Abyss Rising.
New Yu-Gi-Oh Release
Some news for your library’s Trading Card Gamers. Konami will be releasing the Yu-Gi-Oh! Samurai Warlords Structure Deck on June 26. The deck will have 38 Commons, 2 Super Rares (Legendary Six Samurai–Kageki and Shien’s Smoke Signal) and 1 Ultra Rare (Six Samurai Xyz Monster).
Duel Masters is Back
Here is something that your library’s Trading Card Gaming fans might like to know about. Wizards of the Coast is scheduled to release Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters this coming September. This game is currently the #2 TCG in Japan and Wizards is trying to release it in the North American market again. This will be supported with a anime series on The Hub TV Network.
VIZ to Publish Redakai
Here is a title most libraries will probably want to add to their manga collections. VIZ Media ia planning to publish Redakai. This title will appeal to you animation and TCG players, since Radakai has an anime by Marathon, on Cartoon Network, and a TCG put out by Spin Master. There is no set date on release for this title yet, but you will want to start watching your purchasing sources and alert your purchasing agent and they might be able to pre-order the first book.
Gold Series Returns
This one is for all your Trading Card Game enthusiasts. Konami is scheduled to release, Yu-Gi-Oh! Gold Series: Haunted Mine, on June 12. This series is introducing a Gold/Ghost Hybrid card. The hybrid card will be a 3-D holographic image and have a gold border and gold text. The series will be released in boxes of 25 cards for around $19.99. The break down of the pack will be: 1 Gold Ghost Hybrid card; 2 Gold Rare cards; and 22 common cards.
New Pokemon Decks
Let all your gamers know that Pokemon is having a new expansion come out on May 9. The new expansion is called Pokemon: Black & White – Dark Explorers. The expansion deck will have 100 cards to include six new “Pokemon-EX” cards. The expansion will have theme decks at $11.99 and booster packs at $3.99.
New Marvel TCG Set
Let all your Marvel and TCG fans know about the new, Upper Deck, Marvel Trading Card Game Superhero Squad. This product is geared for the younger fans, but your older fans that are into collecting different TCG’s might be interested in this set as well.
Magic Cards with Comics
