Tekken to the Movies

AnimeNews Network is reporting that Tekken: Blood Vengeance produced by Namco Pictures and distributed by Bandai Entertainment will have a limited release to theaters.  The date scheduled is July 26, so have your patrons that enjoy anime to start checking their local theaters.  Even though it doesn’t have a list of theaters it is to be expected that it will be in the major metropolitan areas.  Trailer is provided through YouTube.

Anime Food Recipes Online

There is a new site, Bistro Animeshi at http://www.animeshi.net/recipe002.html,  that just begun where the creators are posting recipes for different foods from anime shows.  Pictured above is the Herring and Pumpkin Pie from Kiki’s Delivery Service.  If you go there you will need to translate the recipes into English.  The site currently only has a few recipes that includes Spaghetti and Meatballs from Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro.  Visit their site and see what you think.

Canadian Theaters listed for Trigun Movie

For our librarian family in Canada, you will want to let your patrons that enjoy anime know that Trigun: Badlands Rumble movie might be coming to a theater near you.  AnimeNews Network has a listing of Canadian theaters that will be showing Trigun: Badlands Rumble.  It is scheduled to be in theaters on June 22.  Jump to the link for a full listing.

Kenshin Turns Blu

Aniplex also announced that the 1997-2001 Rurouni Kenshin OVA’s (Original Video Anime) will be released on Blu-Ray.  Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal on August 24; Reflection on September 21; and The Movie on Oct. 26.  To read the full article follow the link.  Your libraries might already have these on DVD so purchase where necessary.

Fullmetal Trailer Streaming

Jump to the below website for Fullmetal Alchemist: Milos no Sei-Naru Hoshi trailers.  There is a set of five different trailers you can watch.  Even though it is in Japanese you patrons will still be interested in watching the trailer.  Why?  Because as popular as Fullmetal Alchemist is, this movie will eventually make it to the U.S. market for sell.  And then libraries will want to pick it up for their Anime Collections.
