This weeks amv comes from YouTuber Parasite02. Parasite02 takes Enya’s song “Book of Days” and blends it with clips from Chrono Trigger. I love Enya’s work, but I wasn’t sure how it would work with an AMV. Surprisingly with the Chrono Trigger clips it works really well. The fantasy and fast paced elements of the clips work great with the tempo of “Book of Days”. You can find this AMV on YouTube with the tag “Chrono Trigger AMV – Chronology Anthology – Enya Book of Days” or you can watch it below. Thanks for a great AMV Parasite02.
Charity Book on Kindle
If any of your patrons still want to give to the Japanese Society after the earthquake you might want to tell them about this possibility. The Amazon Kindle Store has an 84 page charity book featuring Gurren Lagann entitled “Believe in Yourself”. It sells for $9.99 and the proceeds will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society to assist in the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake. Thanks to AnimeNews Network for this information.
This Week at the Movies
There isn’t much happening at the movies this weekend. However, there is one movie that might interest your patrons that enjoy anime and magna. Shaolin opens this weekend on a limited basis. So if this happens to be showing in your area you might mention it to your patrons as a possible night out. Thanks to YahooMovies for the trailer below.
FUNimation gets Legendary
AnimeNews Network is reporting that FUNimation will be releasing The Legend of the Legendary Heroes (Densetsu no Yusha no Densetsu). The anime series is an adaptation of Takaya Kagami’s fantasy light novels and is slated to be available on DVD and Blu-Ray next Spring.
More fun in Japan
Japan just likes to have fun with their popular culture. It has been announced that the convenience store chain FamilyMart will be offering new pork buns. The pork buns will be Slime Nikuman, inspired by the role-playing game DragonQuest.
Dectective Dee Trailer
Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame is a limited release. If you are fortunate enough to have it showing in your area, this would be a movie that your anime, manga, and martial arts enthusiasts would enjoy. If it isn’t in your area submit the title to purchase for your DVD/Blu-Ray collections so it can be purchased when it is released by your purchasing department. Thanks to YahooMovies for the trailer.
AMV of the Week
This weeks AMV is from a few years back. YouTuber technotronica made this AMV with Will Smith’s “Wild Wild West” combined with scenes from Trigun. The editing has great moments were the images match up with the songs lyrics perfectly. For this persons first AMV he/she did a great job. However, this AMV was also his/her last because there are no other listings for this YouTuber. You can find this on YouTube with the tag “Trigun-Wild, wild west AMV” or you can check it out below.
