We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
With Yu-Gi-Oh still going strong, CW 4Kids Toonzai is debuting Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal, October 15. The franchise is still strong here in the U.S., so this is a title for librarians that keep track of their Anime Collection to place in their forth coming folder as a possible purchase in the future. This week’s AMV comes from YouTuber iloveheroes. This individual took images from the Fullmetal Panic! anime and edited them to the song “Kiss the Girl” performed by Ashley Tisdale. There are a few pixelated parts, but it doesn’t distract from the viewing. I right there along with iloveheroes, I love the two leads of the anime (Souske & Chidori) and when ever I see them I get a smile on my face because the story is so much fun. Konami’s website is showing a new structure deck that you can talk to your gaming patrons about. Gates of the Underworld Structure Deck will have 40 cards in it and is slated for an October 11, release with a suggested retail price of $9.99. If your Yu-Gi-Oh players don’t already know about this, tell them about it.

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber Mewprincess3. Mewprincess3 uses the song “Just Haven’t Met You Yet” performed by Michael Buble and edits images from Fruits Basket to the lyrics. This is a perfect fit to me. Through the whole series Kyo and Tohru didn’t truly meet each other until the very end. If your library doesn’t have a copy of Fruits Basket and you can find one it would be a great addition to the anime collection. Everyone wanted Fruits Basket to have a second season but at this point I don’t think that will happen and it might be for the best (can lightening strike again?) Let the anime series be the best that it is and patrons that want to get the full story can finish it up in the manga. More film festivals with be screening Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos. Three of the locations have not finalized when the screening will be, but it has been scheduled to screen during their festival. Check below to see if any of the screenings will be in your area:

AnimeNews Network has announced that Pokemon the Movie: White – Victini and Zekron will run in 300 theaters in the U.S. over the December 3-4 weekend. Tell your Pokemon fans to start watching their theaters the last week of November to see if their local theater might get the movie.
AnimeNews Network is reporting that starting with the February issue of Weekly Shonen Champion Magazine Serizawa’s Biohazard Marhawa Desire manga will begin serialization. This title has ties to CAPCOM’s Biohazard/Resident Evil games. Since this is related to Resident Evil and there being several fans of this franchise in the Western market, this should be a shoe-in for be translated for the English speaking audience. Late next year or in 2013 I wouldn’t be surprised to see this being offered to purchase for your library’s partons and the your library itself.
Librarians in the Burbank, California area let your patrons know about this upcoming event. This Saturday, the 17th, the Burbank International Film Festival will host the West Coast premiere of Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos. The viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the AMC Independent 6 theater.
Here is something to tell your anime/manga patrons and in particular One Piece fans. Shueisha, a Japanese publishers, is releasing a recipe book inspired by Eiichiro Odo’s manga One Piece. The book will be entitled One Piece Kaizoku Bento Book and will sell for a suggested 1,380 yen or $18.00 in U.S. currency. If they have any friends in Japan or one of the Websites that sell Japanese anime/manga items might get this book for them to purchase. It would be a unique piece for thier collection and it would be fun translating the book to make the recipes.
