Visit a Secret World

Disney is scheduled to release The Secret World of Arrietty February 17.  The anime movie is from Studio Ghibli, which Disney has had a strong relationship through the years.  The movie is based on the children’s book The Borrowers by Mary Norton.  This is one that libraries will want to pick up for it’s collection when it becomes available.  Thanks to ICv2 and YouTube for the trailer below.

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber mayurei.   This individual has taken the song “Haunt You Every Day” performed by Weezer and edited it to images from the series Ghost Hunt.  It is a longer and slower, but it captures the feel of Ghost Hunt.  Mayurei spent some time with this by going through the episodes and finding clips where the words of the song are lip synced perfectly with the anime to make it look like the character shown is actually singing the words of the song.  Great job all the way around.  You can check out the video on YouTube under the tag “I’ll Haunt You – Ghost Hunt AMV” or watch it below.

The X-Men anime series premieres tonight on G4 at 11:00 p.m. ET.  This will be a 12 episode run and I’m sure will be packaged for U.S. distribution.  So keep your ears to the ground for when it becomes available to add to your library’s animation collection. Thanks to AnimeNews Network and MTV for the trailer below:

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber dcmkod.  This individual has taken the song “Take it Off” by Kesha and edited it to scenes from High School of the Dead.  The editing is good and I enjoyed the AMV.    It might be strange to have a upbeat song like this set to the images that are shown, however I have listened to the songs lyrics and it fits great.  Here is what I’m talking about “lose your mind….we’re delirious, tear it down” and “There’s a place down town where the freaks all come around.  It’s a hole in the wall, it’s a dirty free for all.”  It just works for me.  It you want to view the video search on YouTube for “Highschool of the Dead AMV Take it off!”  or check it out below.

Fullmetal to Have Limited U.S. Release

Eleven Arts has stated that Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos will be showing in around 100 theaters this winter.  Your patrons will want to contact their local movie houses to see if they are going to be one of the lucky few theaters that will be showing this movie.  These releases usually happen in larger cities like New York, Denver, or San Francisco.

Warner Bros. Trying to get Cruise

AnimeNews Network is reporting through Hollywood Reporter that Warner Bros. is trying to talk Tom Cruise into staring as the lead in All I Need is Kill.  The movie will be an adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s novel by the same name.  The concept is that a battle armored soldier is re-incarnated over and over during an alien invasion.

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV is from YouTuber nuttyacornsquirrel.  This individual has taken some flack over this AMV, however the main point of doing AMV’s is to have fun and put a smile on someone’s face.  Even if it is just one person, that is one person that you have given a fun experience for.  The song he uses is “Let it Rock” performed by Kevin Rudolf, which was edited to scenes from Soul Eater.  It’s a catchy song to a fun video.  You can see the video on YouTube under the tag “Soul eater let it rock” or check it out below:
