Etrian Game Trailer

Atlus USA has released the trailer for the upcoming Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan video game.  The game is scheduled to be released for the Nintendo 3DS on February 26 at a suggested retail price of $39.99.  If you pre-order the game it will come with a limited edition art book and a music CD, which will nice extra editions for your library.  Thanks to “AtlusUSA” on YouTube for the following trailer:

Anime Screen in Theater’s

Anime fans in three areas will be happy this December.  There are three theaters that will be screening the first two Puella Magi Madoka Magica movies in December.  Fans in the following areas will want to check with their theaters: December 2, Screenland Crossroad in Kansas City, Missouri; December 20, The Edge 12 in Birmingham, Alabama; and December 29, Texas Theatre in Dallas, Texas.

Mercedes-Benz Makes Anime Short

Mercedes-Benz is having Production I.G. make a 6 minute anime short, “Next A-Class”, to promote Benz’ new A-Class cars, in the Japanese market.  Mizuho Nishikubo, directed the short, with additional talent provided by Kazuchika Kise, the animator, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, who was the character designer and Kenji Kawai, who scored the 6 minute short.  Below is a 30 second commercial for the short that will be released via Benz’ website at a date yet to be determined.  Thanks to YouTuber “responsejp” for providing the video clip:

Library Wars Live Action Film

Here is one movie I hope they bring over to the North American market.  It’s the live action film, Library Wars, which stars Junichi Okada as Atsushi Dojo and Nana Eikura as Iku Kasahara.  It is scheduled for an April release date in Japan and hopefully before the end of 2013 we will be able to purchase it.  Thanks to AnimeNews Network for the following video showing the actors and some scenes from the film:

Music Clip from Kono Danshi, Ningyo Hiroimashita

CW Films has streamed a music video clip of “Umi yori Aoku” (“Bluer Than the Sea”).  This is the theme song to Kono Danshi, Ningyo Hiroimashita (This Boy, Picked up a Merman), sung by Hikaru Midorikawa.  The DVD is available today to purchase in Japan.  Thanks to AnimeNews Network through YouTube for the following clip:

Anime Inspired Fashion

Is this a case of anime inspiring fashion?  Could be.  The first picture above is of the character Rei Ayanami, from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, while the second picture is of model Jourdan Dunn, at the 2012 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.  You can tell that Dunn’s outfit resembles the plugsuit of the Rei character.  Kind of a cool nod to have the fashion designer do this and it makes you wonder if as designers shift to younger individuals what will be the inspiration that they pull from.  For additional pictures of Dunn in her outfit follow the link below.  The show is scheduled to air December 4 on CBS at 9:00 p.m. CDT.

Theme for Sakura Taisen Streamed

Sega has released, through it’s YouTube channel, a animated music video for the theme of it’s Sakura Taisen: Kanadegumi (Sakura Wars: Performing Division) dating simulation game.  The theme is entitled “Enbukyoku, Kimi ni” (“A Waltz, For You”).  Thanks for AnimeNews Network for the heads up on the video, check it out below:
