We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
Another older manga and anime is getting the facelift treatment in Japan, from Toei Animation. This time it is Leiji Matsumoto’s Captain Harlock. Hopefully this will become available in the North American market. It is set to debut in Japan September 7. Sentai Filmworks is releasing Kids on a Slope today on Blu-Ray and DVD. However, if you ordered the Blu-Ray AnimeNews Network is reporting a recall on the Blu-Ray sets because on one of the disc only one voice was transfered (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-05-06/retailer/sentai-filmworks-recalls-kids-on-the-slope-bd-release). Lolita Dark’s song “Zesshou” has been released as a music video through their YouTube channel “Lolitadarkmusic”. We had the pleasure of speaking with their lead singer Ray and that Visit will be up the last part of April. Until then enjoy the band’s music video and give it your support. This band to me is a rockin’ band that will appeal to any Anime/Manga fans and if you show it to your rockers you can introduce them to Japan’s Rock Scene. More TCG news. New cards in the Pokemon Universe will be released on May 18. The set is Pokemon: Black and White – Plasma Freeze and will be a 110 card set that will include EX Cards, ACE SPEC Cards, Trainer Cards and others.
WizKids announced that later this year they are releasing Yu-Gi-Oh HeroClix and Dice-Building Game. The set will include 50 figures designed from the classic animation look of Yu-Gi-Oh. They will be available in 2-player starter packs and Booster packs. Even though they are not released yet WizKids is planning on expansion sets for 2014.
On July 13 Japan will see the release of Pokemon The Movie: ExtremeSpeed Genesect: Mewtwo’s Awakening. This will more than likely hit the North American DVD/Blu-ray market at the end of the year or first part of 2014. Thanks to the Official Pokemon YouTube Channel for providing the trailer:
If you like Harem/Moe anime this looks to be just that with a little bit of Magical Girl thrown in as well. Heaven’s Lost Property: The Angeloid of Clockwork is a comedy from FUNimation that will appeal to older teens. Once you see the trailer you will understand. The Japanese confection company Glico is teaming up with Hirohiko Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure to create snack tie-ins. The snacks will be available, starting February 15, at Circle K Sunkus stores. Individuals that purchase 2 tie-in products will receive 1 of 15 JoJo postcards (pictured below). Those who spend 300 yen can mail in their receipt to enter a lottery to win 1 of 10 anime cels or 1 of 800 Circle K Sunkus pre-paid cards with a security sticker set. So if you are in the area of a Circle K Sunkus store be sure to stop in to get some of these swag.

Nintendo began streaming a trailer for the upcoming Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates of Infinity 3DS game. Pokemon is like the old standard and might be one to consider picking up for your gaming collection. It will be available in the North American market on March 24.
