Shochiku, a film distributor, began streaming a trailer for Space Battleship Yamato 2199 (or Star Blazers to a large group of fans). Shochiku has distributing this anime series as a group of movies and is releasing the sixth movie June 15 entitled, Totatsu! Dai Magellan (Arrival! The Large Magellanic Cloud). MicroSoft and Production I.G. Promotional
MicroSoft began streaming a three minute short featuring Production I.G.’s Ghost in the Shell property. The short is in conjunction with the release of Ghost in the Shell Arise. The short, entitled Ghost in the Shell Arise: Another Mission, is a dialogue and features almost every character from the series and of course MicroSoft’s Surface tablet. The Ghost is the Shell Arise series will debut in Japan on June 22 and will have four parts. Then on July 26 the movies will be available on Blu-ray and DVD. With Ghost is the Shell being popular I would expect the Blu-ray and DVD set will arrive in the North American market toward the end of the year. Very cool cross promotional.
