Koju Hoshino, President of Studio Ghibli, announced at the Venice Film Festival that Hayao Miyazaki will be retiring. Miyazaki’s latest animated film The Wind Rises will be his last film. Other films that everyone knows him by are Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Ponyo, and many others that are to numerous to list. His films have become classics in the animated world and Miyazaki is considered a Master and Champion of the animated film.

A Taste of “Leaves of Words”
The “OfficeAugusta” channel on YouTube is streaming Motohiro Hata’s “Kato no Ha” (Leaves of Words) music video. This song is the main song for Makoto Shinkai’s Garden of Words film. Motohiro Hata also is the singer for the end song for the film as well, entitled “Rain”. Check out the music video below:
Glimpse Inside Ghibli Museum With Matsutoya’s Music Video
EMI Records is currently streaming a part of Yumi Matsutoya’s music video for the theme song for the upcoming, Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli’s, The Wind Rises flim. The song is entitled Hikoki Gumo (Airplane Cloud). What makes the music video so unique is because part of it is filmed in the Ghibli Museum, which does not allow photos or videos to be taken in the museum. So thank you to the Ghibli Museum and EMI Records for allowing this rare look inside the museum walls.
Sailor Moon Gets More Merchandise
On Bandai’s Premium Bandai online store you can pre-order your Sailor Moon necklaces. They retail at approximately $127 per necklace. Bandai also announced that shirts, towels and wall scrolls will eventually become available in the store as the year goes by. Sailor Moon fans rejoice! For more images click on the link below.
Weiss Schwarz CCG Promo Card
Here’s one for all you Collectible Card Gamers. Bushiroad has announced that in the August 13, Blu-ray release of Sword Art Online there will be a promotional card included. The card will have the image of Kirito and Asuna and will be usable in the Weiss Schwarz game. Sword Art Online anime will also start airing on Cartoon Network in August as well. So this release will be of interest to anime fans as well as gamers. Libraries that purchase this Blu-ray could us it as a give-a-way to draw interest in their anime collection and/or gamers club.
K Television Series Coming to Gaming Platforms

The FUNimation channel on YouTube is streaming the following trailer for their upcoming release Michiko & Hatchin. This one looks to be for at least an audience 16 and up. Check out the trailer below and see if it might be something you want to add to your anime collection. The scheduled released date for the Blu-ray and DVD sets are September 17.
Pacific Rim Trailer
Pacific Rim hits theaters this week. Looks to be cool, but most of your Japanese Manga and Anime fans are going to look at this and say it looks very familiar.
