FUNimation has released Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 as part of their classics line. So if you don’t have it in your collection you can pick it up. Here is the trailer through their YouTube channel:
An Anime Night at the Orchestra!
This would be so cool to attend, but alas I won’t be able to. If you happen to be in Japan on July 20th, you might want to look into it. On July 20, the Japan Screen Music Symphony Orchestra will be in concert to share how music is one of the driving forces in anime. Selections will come from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Attack on Titan, Neon Genesis Evangelion and other lesser know anime. The concert will be held at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo.
New Dragon Ball!
This one is for all the Dragon Ball fans. This July, Japan’s Fuji TV will premiere a brand new Dragon Ball animated television series entitled Dragon Ball Super. This is inspired by Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball, but he is not writing the script. So more than likely this will make its way to the North American Market.
Attack on Titan Live Action Trailer!
All I can say is that I hope a North American distributor will pick up Attack on Titan for distribution. Australian distributor Madmen Entertainment has already picked it up for their region and has begun streaming the following subtitled trailer on their YouTube channel. Above is pictures of the movie poster and the three leads in order are: Haruma Miura as Eren; Kiko Mizuhara as Mikasa; and Kanata Hongo as Armin. Pet Girl of Sakurasou Trailer
The Pet Girl Sakurasou is now available through Sentai Filmworks. This is one that is for the older audiences so you might want to preview it before adding it to library collections. It is listed as a romantic comedy, but just by the trailer you can tell it is for young adults and up. Here is the Japanese trailer from “Irvin Zimbron’s” YouTube channel.
Death Note Gets Another Adaptation
Didn’t know or think this would happen but it did….Death Note the Musical. HoriPro began streaming a sampling of the songs which you can see below, from their YouTube channel. So Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata get to see another incarnation of their manga and I have to admit listening to some of the songs they aren’t to bad.

When Marnie Was There Trailer
The next Studio Ghibli animated film to be released in the U.S. is When Marnie Was There. It is scheduled to open on May 22. Studio Ghibli is always associated with fine work and this looks to be the same. Just the song that plays with the trailer evokes a specific mood.
