The X-Men anime series premieres tonight on G4 at 11:00 p.m. ET. This will be a 12 episode run and I’m sure will be packaged for U.S. distribution. So keep your ears to the ground for when it becomes available to add to your library’s animation collection. Thanks to AnimeNews Network and MTV for the trailer below:

Another Batman Animated Series
ICv2 is reporting that Warners Animation EVP, Sam Register announced, at Cannes, that a new Batman animated series is in the works for 2013. The series will be computer animated and entitled Beware The Batman.
Simpsons Causing Trouble Again
It seems as though Fox and the voice actors of the Simpsons are at it again. Talks about salaries are in progress and as before the network is saying if nothing can be worked out the show will be cancel after 23 seasons.
Superhero Squad is Back
The third season of Superhero Squad will air today on Cartoon Network. This is one that librarians can recommend to parents of young children that are starting to be introduced to the world of Superheroes.
Sabrina Flies Again
ICv2 is reporting that Moonscoop is creating a new Sabrina the Teenage Witch animated series. No debut date was given. But by looking at the image that was provided you can tell there is an anime style influence in the design of the characters.
Ultimate Disney
Marvel’s site has a brief interview with Drake Bell who will be voicing Spider-Man in the new animated series. Disney XD will have Ultimate Spider-Man on its schedule for 2012. Another example of how Disney is trying to get the teen male ratings that they have been anxious for.

New Last Airbender
Nicktoons.com has released a trailer for The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra. This will be a new animated series, not a sequel to the live action movie. With this title, the animated series is where it’s at. The first story was very well done and I am willing to bet this second story will be well done as well.
Hulk S.M.A.S.H.ed!
ICv2 is reporting that at Comic Con this last weekend Jeph Loeb announced that Disney XD has a Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. in development. This is a new animated series that is being looked at to get Tween and Teen boys into watching. This is one of the primary reasons Disney purchased Marvel is because they had no properties that drew in the young boy viewers. We will probably see more of this coming out from Disney as the years progress.
