We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
ABC has announced that for Captain America’s 75th Anniversary that they will be airing – Marvel’s Captain America: 75 Heroic Years. This special will give the history of the character through the years. The special will air Tuesday, January 19. So check you listings for your time.
If you or your patrons are fans of ABC’s Revenge, currently in it’s third season, then this graphic novel might interest you. Marvel is slated to release Revenge: The Secret Origin of Emily Thorne on September 3. This is one you will want to consider adding to your graphic novel collection. This is kind of becoming a habit with Disney. They already have graphic novels for their ABC series Castle and Once Upon a Time.

Here is where you know Marvel Entertainment is owned by Disney. It has been announced that on September 4, Marvel will release an original graphic novel based on the ABC series Once Upon A Time. To be honest April and I love this series and the graphic novel will be added to the collection at the library because titles like these are great to use for cross-promotion within a library, because we will be adding the first season of Once Upon a Time to the library’s collection as well.
Here is another forth coming card game that you might be interested in if you are a fan of the TV series Castle. Cryptozoic Entertainment is going to release Castle: The Detective Card Game that can be played by 2 to 5 players. The suggested retail will be $30.00, but there is no release date as of this posting. ABC and Marvel are teaming up for a third Storm title. However, instead of it being an original graphic novel like the first two titles, this will be a mini-series first and then I am positive it will be collected into a graphic novel. The mini-series is entitled, Castle: A Calm Before a Storm. Be sure to put this on your purchase list for when it is distributed as a GN.
ABC has order a pilot from Joss Whedon, Marvel TV and ABC Studios, for a possible S.H.I.E.L.D. series. If this will get picked up will be interesting. I would want it to be in no earlier than an eight o’clock time slot and preferably nine o’clock so they can do storytelling that fits in with this clandestine organization.
