AMV of the Week
This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber victorwonder. This is a few years old, but it still is a nice video. The song “Do You Believe in Magic” performed by Aly & A.J. is a nice cover of an older song. It’s been covered a couple of different times, but the ladies don’t do anything major changes to the arrangement. It’s just a nice pop song. Victorwonder takes and episode of Justice League Unlimited, that features Zatanna, entitled “This Little Piggy” and edits images of Zatanna with the song, which is a perfect fit. Dexter gets Comic
Marvel’s Joe Quesada announced that in 2012 Marvel will begin publishing an ongoing Dexter comic book series. Jeff Lindsay is slated to write the comic series, whom is also the author of the bestselling Dexter novels. Marvel says the comic book series will fall into continuity of the novels and not the Showtime Dexter series.
Digital to Take over Print Subscripiton
Viz Media has announced that it will have a new digital subscription for it’s Shonen Jump magazine in the U.S. called Shonen Jump Alpha. With this new digital subscription the print version of Shonen Jump will discontinue with it’s April 2012 issue. Libraries and individuals will need to get ready for this shift and make adjustments.

More Adaptations of Popular Authors
Yen Press announced at the New York Comic Con that it will have two manga adaptations from authors Sherrilyn Kenyon and Cassandra Clare. Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Chronicles of Nick will be adapted into a two volume set entitled Dark Hunters: Infinity. Cassandra Clare’s trilogy The Infernal Devices will be adapted with art work by HeyKyung Baek. Both titles will first be released in Yen Press’s online anthology Yen Plus and then in print in the Fall of 2012.
News from NYCC on FCBD
ICv2 is reporting that Diamond Comics Distributors and a variety of comic book publishers are considering making another Free Comic Book Day event during a calendar year. Free Comic Book Day is held the first Saturday of every May, however discussion is being done over having a second Free Comic Book Day for Halloween. If they can get everything worked out Diamond Comics is shotting for a 2012 start date for the second Free Comic Book Day Event.
DC Hasn’t Given Up On Print
DC Comics and General Mills Cereal are teaming up to help promote DC’s characters. In specially marked boxes of Lucky Charms, Trix, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Golden Grahams, and Honey Nut Crunch there will be one of four Justice League, 5X7″, 24 page comic book. This is showing that DC is still pushing their characters to the print market for their long time readers, and in a nod to the new digital readers the continuation of the stories will be available digitally online. So tell your graphic novel readers to start checking their cereal aisles.
King and Hill become King of the Hill
Stephen King and his son Joe Hill are teaming up to produce a graphic novel adaptation of the co-written novel Throttle. The adaptation will be entitle Road Rage and published through IDW. Throttle/Road Rage is a work that the two men did to pay tribute to Richard Matheson’s Duel. Interior art will be provide by Nelson Daniel and covers by Phil Noto. Road Rage is scheduled to be released in February. Later in the year Chris Ryall will adapt Matheson’s Duel with art provided by Rafa Garres.
