Remember a jump through hyperspace isn’t like flying crops!  However, if you’re a seasoned pilot or can locate a cargo transport make that jump to Wichita, Kansas’ Exploration Place.  Coming May 26, 2012 Star Wars will be at the Exploration Place in Wichita, Kansas.  “Star Wars: Where Science Meets” Imagination exhibit will feature Star Wars costumes and prop models along side actual science in today’s world.  If you have a Star Wars fan this will be right up their alley.  The exhibit will be at the Exploration Place until September 3, 2012, so make your plans to visit.  Our website also had a special podcast with Linda Eaves, Marketing Project Coordinator for the Star Wars exhibit, that can be found under our “Podcast” tab, Episode 14.5 or by the link below.  Also below is a link to the exhibits webpage to get more information.  Thank you to Exploration Place and LucasFilm for providing imagery.

Grand Opening of Gundam Collection

If you know anyone that is traveling to Tokyo this is one stop they will definitely want to visit.  At Diver City Tokyo Plaza on Tokyo’s Odaiba island the new Gundam Front Tokyo Entertainment Complex had it’s Grand Opening on April 19.  The video below is courtesy of AnimeNews Network, YouTube, and Mainichi Shimbun newspaper’s Mantan TV website.  The video starts outside the complex, moves into the Gundam Cafe/Gift Shop and then into the collection of models.  It doesn’t show the complete collection, but it gives you an idea of what is in store for you.

Don’t Forget Locke and Key

Locke and Key is written by Joe Hill and is one of my favorite reads.  IDW Publishing has published 4 collected editions of this title and has a fifth in the works.  The title is geared for upper teens (15 and Up) and adult readers.  If your library does not have this title yet I strongly recommend it. The following trailer is provided by YouTuber TomWaltz:

FUNimation’s Legendary Heroes

If your library hasn’t purchased The Legend of the Legendary Heroes yet, tell your purchasing agent to put an order in for the title.  This looks like a good action adventure/fantasy anime to add to your library’s anime collection.  Thanks to the FUNimation channel on YouTube for the following trailer.

New Resident Evil CG Movie

Let your purchasing agents in your libraries know that a new Resident Evil computer animated movie is slated for an October 27, release.  The title of the movie is Resident Evil: Damnation. This movie is one that will not only interest your anime fans, but your library’s Horror and gaming fans.  Thanks to AnimeNews Network and YouTube for the following trailer:

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber DaiKunProductions.  DaiKunProductions takes the song “Ready to Roll”, performed by Jet Black Stare and edits in images from Initial D.  This is a great song to get your blood pumping and the Initial D scenes work perfectly with the song.  This AMV was also a finalist at Anime Expo in 2009.  This is definitely one that will get your head rocking and your foot tapping…..Great job all around.  You can watch the video below or search for it on YouTube under “Ready To Drift – Anime Expo 2009 AMV Contest Acton Finalist”.

Don’t Forget About Free Comic Book Day

Free Comic Book Day is fast approaching.  I hope your library has ordered in an allotment from your local comic book store.  We have the majority of ours ready.  If you don’t remember the date for Free Comic Book Day is the first Saturday in May, which is May 5 this year.  Hope everyone has a great time with it and helps promote the comic book medium.

More Pokemon to Catch

Let all your Pokemon fans and DS gamers know that the next installment of Pokemon is coming their way.  The next titles will be Pokemon Black Version 2 and Pokemon White Version 2, which will introduce two new Legendary Pokemon (Black Kyurem and White Kyurem).  The release date for the two games is set for June 23, in Japan and in the Fall for the North American and European markets.  Thanks to the Pokemon Website, YouTube, and AnimeNews Network for the following game trailer.

3DS at the Louvre

On April 11, the Louvre art museum began renting Nintendo 3DS’ that provides audio and visual commentary on the works in the museum.  The DS also has a map feature that one can use to navigate the museum and know where they are at within the museum.  The rental fee is approximate $6.50 in U.S. currency and is available in French, English, Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish and Italian.  A new way that gaming systems are making their way into everyday life.  There was no comment on if you own your own 3DS if the app can be downloaded.  So at this point it seems that you have to rent the Louvre’s 3DS’.
