When you go to Exploration Place’s “Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination” exhibit a little extra money to go on the Millennium Falcon experience. This is a life size mock-up of the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. Video plays and you get to experience a ride through space with C-3PO as your guide. It is similar to an IMAX experience. The cockpit does not move, but the way the film is shot it makes you feel like you are moving. This piece of the Star Wars exhibit is an extra $3.00 per person, but it is well worth it. Pictured above are Matt, Logan and the last picture is April and Richard.

New Western Graphic Novel for your Collection
Superman vs. The Elite Trailer
The Strain
Dark Horse Comics has been adapting Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s, New York Times Bestselling Strain Trilogy, written by David Lapham and art by Mike Huddleston. The first Volume of the comic book adaptation, issues 1-6, will be available November 2012. This title I have not personally read, but with the nature of the book being in the Horror genre, I would say this will be more suitable for your patrons that are 16 and up. Have your purchasing agents mark their calenders if you want to add this to your graphic novel collection.
AMV of the Week
This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber xxDxxMxx. This YouTuber takes the song “Shake It!” performed by Metro Station and edits in several scenes from a variety of anime. The cuts are quick cuts that are to the beat of the song. Because of this there are a lot of quick flashes, so if you are prone to seizures this might not be the AMV for you. It is an older AMV, but I just liked the feel good beat of the song and how the cuts keep the rhythm of the music. It’s worth seeing again. Great job xxDxxMxx. You can check out the AMV on YouTube under “Shake It!” or watch it below:

Metal Gear Solid Novel
Viz Media is releasing Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots novel, June 19th. This title will be one that appeals not only to the anime/manga fan, but also your library’s gaming fans. The project MSRP will be $15.99. When you get it in at your library you could spotlight other gaming titles that have been made into novels (i.e. Resident Evil, MASS Effect, and Doom just to name a few that have been published over the years).
Hero Tales Available
FUNimation released Hero Tales this week. This is one that you will want to consider for your library’s anime collection. It is by the same person that made Fullmetal Alchemist, so that fact alone will make it of interest to your library’s anime patrons. Thanks to FUNimation Channel on YouTube for the following trailer:
