We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
Nintendo is being super cool on their YouTube channel. The Star Fox Zero Wii U game is being released and they have, of course put up the trailer for the game, but they have also are streaming a Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins a 14 and a half minute short. The short film was worked on by Shigeru Miyamoto, Production I.G., and Wit Studio. Check out the trailer below and then watch the short under that.
It’s been a while and we said we would continue to spotlight Sekai no Owari because we enjoyed them so much. So for their spotlight this time we are featuring the singles “S.O.S.” that was the theme for the movie Attack on Titan End of the World. The music video to “S.O.S.” is filled with vivid imagery and will appeal to many as an “art” video, because of its style. Funeral Suits is sharing with the ComicPop listeners their lyrics video for their single “Tree of Life”. Even though this single talks about the daily life it looks at the aspect that this isn’t all for us. Things might be unexciting, unless you make it exciting. Look at the world around you and wonder in it. I really enjoyed the beat of the single and lyrics, which after a few listenings you will be able to join in with them in singing the “Tree of Life”. Adam Jensen is sharing with our listeners his latest music video for his single “Numb”. “Numb” is one of those songs that one can get into rather easily. The rhythm is really good and lyrics are very singable and almost everyone can relate to the song to some degree or another. With his music video to his single “Changes” Friday spotlights this aspect of life. “Changes” is centered around his life and the changes his family is going through. His Mother that raised him is going through Alzheimer’s that as everyone knows effects the person as well as the family. Come join us for a “Terrible Mistake” that isn’t quite so terrible. Lilly Wolf is sharing her music video for “Terrible Mistake” from her Deleted Scenes album. This individual single has an electronic/pop feel to it. The vocals are really nice and clear with the instrumentals complementing the singer. The video is interesting in that it has been shot and then run backwards, but for me it is the single that I gravitate to and enjoy. Holy Sheboygan! is sharing their music video for “Belly of the Beast”, with our listeners. I love the R&B sound that the group has and can see more coming from them. About two minutes into the single there is a shift in rhythm that will throw some people, but then it goes right back into the original beat. With the music video it will be mixed in who will enjoy it or won’t. With everything spinning around, for some it will be difficult to watch if they have any type of motion sickness. Lady Low is giving the listeners of ComicPop Library another great music video for their single “You & I”. I love Lady Low’s sound and we definitely want everyone to enjoy their harmony that they have in this, what I would call, Love Ballad. The music video harkens back to “High School” days with being in black and white and with the letterman’s jacket. Before I saw Star Wars and dived into Science Fiction/Fantasy, the movie that captivated me in my youth was Smokey and the Bandit. Trans Am Depot has made 77 new modern “Bandit” Trans Ams. This is a beauty! If I had unlimited money to blow on whatever I wanted this would be sitting in my driveway. Even Burt Reynolds came out to help with this project by signing each car. Raphael Di Raddo is giving everyone a glimpse in some up and coming artists in his compilation album Future Hits, Vol. 1. Raphael has already shared with ComicPop two of the artists on this album with our listeners: Ryan Stevenson and Young Avz. The singles of these two artists (“Hey Baby” and “This Love” respectfully) will be on the Future Hits, Vol. 1 album plus 12 other artists. The album is being distributed by Believe Digital and will be available for download April 15.
