New Day of the Doctor Trailer

BBC is having fun with the anniversary of Doctor Who.  They are planning several evenings of Doctor Who programing starting November 18:

  • Tales from the Tardis, a documentary program about the show’s history
  • The Science of Doctor Who with Brian Cox, which discusses the science behind the show
  • Doctor Who Explained, interviews of cast members from the show’s 50 year history
  • An Adventure in Space and Time, a drama about the launch of the original Doctor Who.
  • The Graham Norton Show, the BBC talk show, with Matt Smith and David Tennant as guests.
  • The Doctors Revisited – The Eleventh Doctor, interviews and more about the Eleventh Doctor.

and then it will end, November 23, with the 50th anniversary special Day of the Doctor.  Which has a new trailer that the “BBC” channel has uploaded on YouTube.  Check it out:

Cool Japanese Red Cross Promotional

The Japanese Red Cross Society is doing a cool promotional, for blood donations, in the Ibaraki prefecture.  While supplies last the anime Girls und Panzer is collaborating with the Red Cross to help promote blood donations from teens and individuals in their 20’s.  Donors will receive a special Girls und Panzer souvenir card after they have donated.  The other cool factoid is that the story of Girls und Panzer is set in the town Oarai, which is in the Ibaraki prefecture.  It would be cool if something like this could be done with the North American Red Cross and superheroes.

Disney Inks Deal with Netflix

Disney has inked a deal with Netflix for some Disney’s Marvel Characters.  Netflix will air four original series for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist and then also a miniseries for Defenders.  The first series will make it’s debut in 2015 and is planned to be Daredevil.

New Ms. Marvel

We get a new Ms. Marvel in the Marvel NOW Universe.  This looks to be a great new direction for the comic.  Why people are having such a fuss is beyond me.  We are supposed to be the melting pot of the world and with that comes diversity.  I have friends that were Muslim and quite a few other ethnic groups and we never thought about our differences, we just thought about our shared interests and enjoyed each others company.  I will give this a try just like I would any other comic book out there on the racks and if it is written and drawn well I will enjoy it just like I enjoy other comic books.

Silverlake Lounge Night

Silverlake Lounge
Discover LA’s EMERGING Music Talent FREE Every Thursday Night at Silverlake Lounge
4 November 2013 It’s official. The West Coast and specifically LA’s local music scene is giving Brooklyn a run for it’s money. Want to experience this burgeoning scene for yourself?  Look no further than The MuseBox /Reverbnation’s November Residency every Thursday at The Silverlake Lounge!

To kick things off, we stacked our first night, November 7th, with a stellar line-up of garage rocking, psyched out area locals. Headlining the night are LA’s own Baby Fleas, grimy punks with a penchant for pop. Also on the bill are dreamy space band The Tulips, along with San Diego’s Wild Wild Wets and Jack Berry & The Loaded Loot.

The event, powered by The MuseBox  , is also in conjunction with ReverbNation, supporting NoKillLA  – an organization works to find homes for shelter animals to avoid euthanasia and working towards making LA a NO KILL CITY by 2017. A truly dedicated organization we all strongly believe in.

Ready for the kicker? The stacked night is totally and completely FREE, not even an RSVP needed! That’s five incredible locals acts, one incredible cause, and a typically listless night now taken care of for you.

Don’t miss out!

Phildel is on a North American Tour

Phildel has a strong high voice.  Her style of music reminds me a little of Enya.  It is very melodic and has a mystical sound to it.  The videos carry that feel as well, especially with the black masks that the women wear. Check her tour dates below and be sure to mark you calendar for the date in your community.

Her debut album The Disappearance of the Girl, out now on Decca Records, won praise throughout the world, with the UK’s Clash Magazine calling it “an irresistible masterpiece.”
Phildel is pleased to have the opportunity to perform its songs, along with songs from her forthcoming EP The Glass Ghost, for North American audiences this November and December.
