Totem’s “Believe in Us” featuring Kinetics & One Love

blackpandaPRtotem

TOTEM, the enigmatic artist/songwriter who has gotten an array of great responses on the release of his demos starting last fall, recently wrapped up the first of a new round of fresh and melodious material. TOTEM collaborated with the infamous twosome, Kinetics & One Love on the highly addictive “believe in us.” Warner/Chappell duo and songwriting/production team produced the track, which also features a rap verse from Kinetics.  The duo has also produced “Dollhouse” for Melanie Martinez, Neon Hitch’s last EP and “Airplanes “for B.O.B. (6x platinum, Grammy nominated).

Totem has a nice clear voice.  You can feel a soulful sound with his voice.  About half-way through you get the Rap sequence and we also have some techno and electric drum kit thrown in for good measure.

In listen to Totem’s other songs I like his sound, but if he used his voice in a more upbeat songs and change the style I could hear him as a strong pop singer.  He could work back and forth between genres easily. – Richard

Alexander Wildwood’s “Summer Skin” Single

blackpandaPRalexander wildwood

This is a good Summer song.  It has an upbeat feel to it.  It’s not quite pop or beach music, but a combo of both, leaning more to the beach type music.  Alexander has a lighter/higher voice so he will have to be careful so his instrumentals don’t overpower his voice.  “Summer Skin” is right there on the edge at times with the instruments overpowering him.

I’m interested in what else he will bring out and everyone be sure to check him out here on SoundCloud- Richard

Suisei no Garganta Trailer

suisei

Suisei no Garganta-Meguru Koro, Haruka is an Original Anime that will be in two parts.  Viz Media has the North American rights to distribute the title and have only committed to saying it will be this year, no specific date yet.  It looks interesting.  Check it out from “BandaiVisual’s” YouTube Channel below:

Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds Cover “Dancing in the Moonlight”

blackpandaPRsister sparrow

I immediately got a good vibe from just this group’s name. A good band name is crucial and shouldn’t be overlooked, Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds intrigues me in a good way and makes me want to listen to their music. I loved the music itself and the group worked really well together for an eight-piece band. The vocals specifically had a nice gritty quality that worked well with the music. The only negatives I heard were that the vocals were a little hard to understand at times, diction is key for any singer. If you can’t get the message across to your audience you might as well not sing. I would’ve also preferred to hear an original song instead of a cover. I’m not a big fan of covers in general and it’s really hard to see how good a band is when they’re performing music that’s not their own.
