Son of God Trailer

Son of God debuts this weekend in theaters.  This movie also has an accompanying music CD in stores of songs inspired by the movie.  One of the songs featured on the album is Everfound’s song entitled “God of the Impossible”.  If Everfound sounds familiar we reviewed their album and had a “Visit” with their lead singer Nikita.  Here are the links for those two episodes: http://comicpoplibrary.com/news/ep-40-creepiest-kind-of-therapy-comicpop-library/ for Episode 40 were we reviewed their album, which is on the second part of the show and; http://comicpoplibrary.com/news/ep-15-of-comicpop-visits-with-everfounds-lead-singer-nikita/ for Episode 15 of our “Visits” were we visited with Nikita, lead singer of Everfound.  I’m putting to video clips with this post.  The first one is Everfound’s music video for “God of the Impossible” and then the second is the trailer for Son of God.

Now For Scarlett Rabe’s Music Video “Battle Cry”

Now after seeing a brief video with Scarlett Rabe, you get to see her music video “Battle Cry”.  With Scarlett April and I disagree on how we feel about “Battle Cry”.  Here are April’s thoughts.

The openning of “Battle Cry” was really cool, I appreciate a hard bass. I was taken aback when she started singing and am still not sure if I liked it. I enjoyed the chorus of the song alright but I’m afraid that’s all. The song was alright, I didn’t reslly get anything special out of it and probably won’t go back to the song on my own.

-April B.
You can see that April was indifferent about the song.  I on the other hand liked Scarlett’s voice from the start.  It has a slightly unique quality to it.  I also enjoyed the tempo of the song and how Scarlett’s voice blended with the instruments in the chorus, but no enough to drown her out.  I also enjoyed the spotlight on the piano.  I miss the variety of instrumentation that used to be in songs.
So you can see April and I have differing opinions.  Which is great that’s what makes this world go round.  However, now you can watch and listen to Scarlett Rabe’s music video “Battle Cry” and make you on decision.  Thank you  to Scarlett for sharing this on her YouTube channel:

4e releases “swf+”

I love “Swift”! I was immediatly moving with it and can easily see this being played in a club. The hard bass and slower tempo mixes for perfect slow-grinding music. I would put this song up there with “Wicked Games” by The Weekend for slow club music. I’m definintley coming back to this song!
-April B.
This is 4e’s premiere of their new track “swf+” at the 405.  They plan on releasing an EP entitle f0revr in March.  Until then check out “swf+”.

Who is Scarlett Rabe?

For those that don’t know of Scarlett Rabe, she started out as a piano prodigy at the age of 3.  She has millions of FaceBook fans and has turned her attention to being a singer/songwriter.  Below is a small clip that Scarlett did talking about herself.  Come back tomorrow to hear and see her music video “Battle Cry”.

Kid Felix Music Video for “I am a River”

The vocals of “I Am the River” immediately draw you into the song and keeps you there. The beginning isn’t very busy and I appreciate the simplicity. Even after the drop the instrumentals complimented the vocals, rather than overpowering them. I found myself putting the song on repeat and really feeling the song. Everything in the song had a purpose and I could hear the truth of the song from how it was done.

Jessica Childress Hits the Scene

Jessica Childress
Don’t Forget My Name
4 February 2014

I love the smooth quality of Jessica’s music. The music gives off a smooth jazz feel that I could never get tired of. Jessica herself can definitely sing. She’s got a lower range that she can sing to no end. She’s unique in her own way and doesn’t sound to gruff and scratchy. I can easily see her performing in an after hours club with smoke in the air. I’ll definitely come back to her music and you should to if you have a soft spot for jazz.

Adrian Delivers Her Album “Be Your Own Saviour”

ADRIAN RELEASES NEW ALBUM

BE YOUR OWN SAVIOUR

Soaked in dark grunge and 90’s alt rock, Adrian has the power trio of powerful female vocals, slick guitar notes and great production behind the release of her new album Be Your Own Saviour. The angst and aggression paired with her edgy style create an album that satisfies those looking for hard tunage with just a slight hint of appealing pop.

The album is a heavy rock journey of melancholy nostalgia with Adrian cooing against shaded guitar notes and gritty drum beats. Adrian, never one to leave a listener unelectrified, sewed her songs together and created a solid album that will leave grungy arena pop fans salivating for more.

“I have mixed feelings about Adrain. There are multiple elements of her music that I enjoy but I’m not sure if it vibes well all put together. Her song Bluespace was an instrumental song, which I have no problem with. The song just never really went anywhere, it got a little boring, to put it bluntly. Her other songs were a little hard for me to listen to as well. The music seemed to be fighting each other instead of complimenting one another. I wasn’t a big fan of the album cover either, it was a bit weird to me and didn’t make a lot of sense.”

-April B.

If you like the ’90’s grunge sound then Adrian might be one for you.  Check out her website and facebook page and check out her concert dates and listen to her live.
