Oblio is sharing with our listeners again their latest single, “Lilly”. “Lilly” hits one of my many sweet spots. It is a really nice paced folk/americana single, that is from their Autophobia album. Just after a couple of listens I was able to pick up the lyrics and have a fun time singing along with them. To me if a song can get you to sing along with it then the artist have definitely hit upon something. Take a moment and sing along with Oblio with their single “Lilly” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Rod Melancon Tells Us About the “Lights of Carencro”
Rod Melancon is sharing with the ComicPop listeners his music video for his single “Lights of Carencro”. Rod’s style reminds me of something you might hear from John Mellencamp. It has one foot in the traditional rock scene and another in the country scene, almost southern rock. “Lights of Carencro” has an old 1970’s throwback to it. The single is a “story” song and it has an old tinny radio sound to the vocals. Most people would recognize this sound effect as being similar to the CB radio voice in the “Convoy” single by C.W. McCall. Now in “Lights of Carencro” the lyrics tell of a tragedy that befalls a family and end’s with the brothers coming together again in a haunting way (if I said anymore it would spoil the song). The music video that Rod has with the single is just as haunting. This single will be available next year on Rod’s LA 14 EP. Until then check out “Lights of Carencro” music video by Rod Melancon, that he has provided through his YouTube channel – Richard:
Marga Lane is “Thinking About You”
Marga Lane is sharing with the ComicPop listeners her single “Thinking About You”. We get another strong soulful voice with Marga. “Thinking About You” has the trappings of Soul Music, but has an upbeat fun rhythm to it. It conveys the way a couple feels when they are falling for each other. Marga has recently been featured on Lance Bass’ SiriusXM Radio’s program Dirty Pop and will more than likely be featured on more programs. We want to thank her for sharing with ComicPop and our listeners. Marga has an EP planned for a December 2 release, entitled Undressed, so keep an eye out for it on your favorite digital music vendors. Until then enjoy Margo Lane’s fun loving “Thinking About You” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Katie Buxton’s Single “You Flew”
Katie Buxton is sharing with us today her single “You Flew”. Katie has a nice strong and clear alto range voice. Most singers want to have that higher voice, but I enjoy the lower range voices just as much. “You Flew” is a ballad that talks about letting a loved one go, because of your love for him or her. It’s hard to do but sometimes that is what it comes to. The music video that was produced for this single is fairly simple, but effective. I love the snow background while Katie is singing. You can get this single and others from her 2016 release on her EP From Songbirds from your digital vendors. Here is Katie Buxton’s “You Flew” music video through Amplify Entertainment Group’s YouTube channel – Richard:
Madison McWilliams Advises to “Smell the Roses”
Madison McWilliams is sharing with us her single “Smell the Roses”. Madison hits the teen pop scene really well with this upbeat fun single. Even though with her young age and her voice still developing, Madison already has that raw talent that I am interested in hearing more from her and hope she doesn’t stray to far from the path like other singers. “Smell the Roses” is a great start for her and I hope she continues evolving her voice career as well as her acting. Enjoy some fun as Madison McWiliams reminds us to stop and “Smell the Roses” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Patrick Krief’s Lyric Video for “Deo Gratias”
Patrick Krief is sharing with the ComicPop Library listeners his latest lyric video for his single “Deo Gratias”. “Deo Gratias” is a hauntingly beautiful introspective single. How Patrick relays the lyrics and the sway of the music captures you in its simplicity and almost makes the listener almost ache, but in a good way. The lyric video was directed by Christopher Mills of Modest Mouse. The video keeps that same simplistic feel, but is haunting with it being done in black and white. Really nice work done by both artists. Patrick will be dropping a double album, automanic blue, at the end of September that will include this single so keep an eye out at your digital vendors for it. Until then enjoy Patrick Krief’s lyric video for “Deo Gratias” through his YouTube page – Richard:
Ceasefire takes us on a “Joyride”
Ceasefire is hitting the airwaves with their latest single “Joyride”. This single is a fast and fun song that takes you back to the 1990’s. Ceasefire has created an upbeat rhythm for listeners to enjoy and dance around with. The lyrics compliment the instrumentals really well with a strong performance. Pure fun! So click that play button and start your day on an upbeat note with Ceasefire’s “Joyride” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Japanese Wallpaper’s Music Video for “Cocoon”
Japanese Wallpaper, Gab Strum, gives us a peaceful melody in it’s music video for the single “Cocoon”. It is an electronic piece, but the rhythm is so gentle and the vocals are sung in a melodic way that just puts me in a peaceful place. If you are stress out this single would alleviate it. The music video is snapshots of different places in nature that also lends to that peaceful harmonious feel. Really enjoyed this and I think you will to. Here’s Japanese Wallpaper’s “Cocoon” music video from Zero Through Nine’s YouTube channel – Richard:
piKzil Wants You go Get a “Brand New Soul”
piKzil is hitting the scene with, what I would call an electronic/lounge feel with their single “Brand New Soul”. The duo, Liza Oxnard and Kip Kuepper, are blending a couple of different musical genres to get their style. It will appeal to those who want to just have a nice relaxing drink while letting the music wash over them. piKzil has an album planned for release this month, until then here is piKzil’s “Brand New Soul” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Knox Hamilton Gets “Washed Up Together”
Knox Hamilton has a nice rock/pop sound they are sharing with the ComicPop Library listeners. They are letting us enjoy their music video, for their single, “Washed Up Together”. The video itself will grab you very fast with the fact that they are vacuum sealing people. With me having allergies listen alone bugs me out, no way am I going to be doing this and if for some reason I did someone would have to be ready to immediately cut me out so I could breath. The music video, like I said grabs you, but don’t let that be the only thing you get out of this single. “Washed Up Together” is a strong song about individuals being themselves and not being afraid of doing what you want to do. Don’t let other people’s judgements get in your way of being you and your loved ones will follow with you…that’s what love is about right. Here’s Knox Hamilton’s “Washed Up Together” music video from their YouTube channel – Richard
