Vacances is sharing with the ComicPop listeners his single “Human”. Vacances has with this single has that 1980’s style synth/pop going. When he first came in with the lyrics my mind went straight to a similar sound as Human League. Like most of these types of songs his voice is blending in with the instrumentals. This is a fine line that Vacances will have to watch. With “Human” he stays at the appropriate level of being right above the instrumentals. But with his softer voice he will have to watch the power of the instrumentals so they don’t over take his voice. Like I said though with “Human” it is working. Jetty Rae’s Single “Take Me To The Mountain”
Jetty Rae is sharing with our listeners her single “Take Me to the Mountain”. Jetty is playing with two different styles of music with this single. I definitely hear a country blend with the instrumentals, but they are slowed down and her singing the lyrics is dragged out like you would hear in a psychedelic single. This might be a little bit of a challenge for new listeners, but for individuals that enjoy the psychedelic feel will get into this single. For me liking more upbeat songs, this is a mood piece for me and when they mood hits it fits. Here’s Jetty Rae’s “Take Me to the Mountain” through SoundCloud – Richard:

Aria Wunderland’s Single “Coup D’etat
Aria Wunderland is sharing her single “Coup D’etat” with our listeners. I know that this is a politically charged single, but I’m not going to dwell on that aspect except to say that it doesn’t matter who has the reigns of authority they should always be questioned and have checks and balances. With that “Coup D’etat” has an unsettling rhythm to it that I believe Aria was going for to have the listener have a sense of unease. The vocals themselves are sometimes lost within the music with her singing at a level that is right at the same level as each other. Here’s Aria Wunderland’s single “Coup D’etat” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Griffin Oskar’s Title Track “Hostage”
Griffin Oskar is sharing with our listeners his title track from his EP “Hostage”. This single hit me just right. Griffin has a nice clear voice and the rhythm is catchy and got my interest right away. “Hostage has a pop/folk feel to it and as everyone knows I enjoy that type of music. The single also has elements of hip hop in it as well. Griffin’s Hostage EP has already been released so take a moment and check out “Hostage” through SoundCloud and if you enjoy it like I did be sure to support him by purchasing his EP – Richard:
Salt Petal’s Latest Single “Telephone”
Salt Petal is giving our listeners a trip to the beach with their single “Telephone”. This single has that surf music vibe to it that was really popular in the ’60’s. “Telephone” is from the band’s upcoming album Rare Hearts, and it is scheduled to drop April 28. So grab your board and enjoy Salt Petal’s single “Telephone” – Richard:
PEP latest single “Get Physical”
PEP wants everyone to enjoy their single “Get Physical”. If PEP’s sound is consistent with what they are doing with “Get Physical” they could be a fun group for me to listen to. The group has a few different styles going on with this single. They have a tribal beat going on that you would hear in something like The Lion King, but when they verse comes in I automatically go back to the ’50’s and thinking of how the Shangri-Las sang with “Leader of the Pack”. Then with the chorus you get a pop feel that gives you a ’70’s vibe. It doesn’t seem like all of these types of music would work, but it does and I’m eager to hear what PEP does next. Solarrio’s “Safety of a Mob” Music Video
Solarrio is sharing with us his music video for the single “Safety of a Mob”. This single has his signature electro/pop style, but he brings it down a little bit and has this single be a little introspective. We don’t get political here and even though the song title can be interpreted as political Solarrio handles it in such a way that the topic is neutral. “Safety of a Mob” could apply to any situation and any view. So he is to be commended for walking that line. The music video is put together with him in a forest interspersed with flashes, of what I can a film negative look, of a person that one would typically think of being in a mob. Here’s Solarrio’s “Safety of a Mob” through his YouTube channel and if you like what you hear be sure to support him – Richard:
Beau + Luci’s Single “Fire Dancer”
Beau + Luci is sharing with our listeners their single “Fire Dancer”. This single is the title track from their upcoming EP Fire Dancer, scheduled for release March 3. Judging by this single Beau + Luci’s style is country/rock. The single has a great beat to it with both voices harmonizing nicely to give the single a bit of otherworldly feel to it. For book lovers this next little tidbit is interesting. Within the description of this single it says that “Fire Dancer” is inspired by Cornelia Funke’s Inkheart Trilogy. Kind of cool! Blue Cactus’ “I Never Knew Heartache” Music Video
Blue Cactus is sharing with us their debut music video for their single “I Never Knew Heartache”. This one is for all the waltz lovers out there. Blue Cactus dives deep into the roots of country/western music for this nostalgic feel for “I Never Knew Heartache”. Even the music video takes you back to the earlier ’70’s, before the transition to the more modern country sound that was developing. Blue Cactus is aiming for a late February, early March release of their self-titled album so if you enjoy the country/western vibe this might be one for you. Here’s the music video for “I Never Knew Heartache” from Blue Catcus’ YouTube channel – Richard:
