You are invited to dream with the “Upright Man” single from the Upright Man. This group is coming to ComicPop to deliver their rock single for everyone to enjoy. “Upright Man” takes you back to the 1970’s with the single’s sound. The single has a hard driving beat that gets you into the music right away and for us old schoolers it harkens back to our school days. The rhythms are a call back to the 70’s and then the vocals bring that feeling home with the waviness that the group infuses in the single. The group’s self-titled album is due out on August 18, but they want our listeners to get an opportunity to hear their sound now. I think you’ll dig it, so here’s Upright Man with their single “Upright Man”, from the upcoming album Upright Man, through SoundCloud – Richard:
Blonde Ambition’s Single “Good News”
Blonde Ambition is sharing with our listeners their single “Good News”. The single is a little bit slower in beat, but still gets your interest with the styling the group uses. To me it is really reminiscent to the 1990’s and something that you would hear from George Michael. Really nice work and I’m definitely interested to hear more. So check out “Good News” from Blonde Ambition’s Slow All Over LP, that you can look for from your digital vendor of choice – Richard:
Miriam Tamar’s Live Music Video for “Come To Me”
Miriam Tamar is sharing with our listeners again. This time it is her live performance at the Nest, where she performed her single “Come To Me”. Miriam still uses her voice to full advantage which is pure smoothness to the ear. With “Come to Me” we still get that international flare to her music that places it apart from other pop songs you might hear on your radio. The music video is a live performance so it features Miriam and different members of her band. Here’s Miriam Tamar’s “Come to Me” live music video for you to enjoy, through her YouTube channel, and then you can look her up on your digital vendor of choice for her EP Firedance – Richard:
Major Love Event Releases “Sandy Sound” Single
Major Love Event is a group based out of Portland, OR that is sharing their single “Sandy Sound”. The way this single is constructed, with a staccato beat, gives the verses a poppy sound and then it goes into a more flowing sound for the chorus. With this type of rhythm, being so catchy, it makes the listener almost unconsciously bob their head. Here’s Major Love Event’s, “Sandy Sound” single, through SoundCloud, from their self titled album, due out June 16 – Richard:
Omar Alhindi Single “Don’t Take My Love Away”
Omar Alhindi is sharing with our listener’s his latest single. In “Don’t Take My Love Away” he gives a solid performance. From the instruments to his voice it is all clicking. It also has a smooth flow to it that washes over the listener. When listening to the single I went to Hall & Oates in style, it really reminded me of something they would do and Omar’s voice is similar to Hall’s as well. “Don’t Take My Love Away” is from Omar’s debut album Bedhead Part 1 that you should be able to locate on your digital vendor of choice. Here’s Omar Alhindi’s “Don’t Take My Love Away” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Monogold’s Music Video for “Naked”
Monogold is sharing with our listeners their second music video. This one is for their single “Naked”. The single and music video remind me the early 1990’s. The rhythm of the single just carries that feel with it and the singers blending with the instruments is the same 1990’s feel. The music video has a vibe that seems to be an homage to the film Benny & Joon from the 1990’s as well. I get this vibe because of the look and quirks of the lead in the video. If you dig Monogold be sure to look for their EP Yolk available through digital vendors. Here’s Monogold’s music video for their single “Naked” through their YouTube channel – Richard:
Late Night Episode Releases “Talk About Love”
Late Night Episode is a new alt/rock band that is hitting the Summer with a great feeling song, with their single “Talk About Love”. This single just has a fun rhythm that gets into your body and makes you want to move. If your like me I dance in my chair even when I listened to “Talk About Love”. The vocals and the synth echo takes me back to high school in the 1980’s – earlier 1990’s. Just a fun single for the Summer time. The group is working on an EP so keep your eyes open on your digital vendors for when they release it. As of this time I have no date or name of their EP to give you. But here is a taste of Late Night Episode and their single “Talk About Love” through SoundCloud – Richard:
Planets Single “Reflections” Feat. Rae Anna Beauford
Planets is a group made up of Matthew Morgan, Christian Haberkern, and Tim Morgan. These gentlemen are sharing with our listeners the single “Reflections” from their upcoming EP Colors Alive. This EP was originally going to be a instrumental release, but as chance would happen the band got to know Rae Anna Beauford through their Facebook page and YouTube and began working with her to be the vocalist for their EP. “Reflections” is a melodic thoughtful piece and with Rae’s smoky voice it all comes together in smooth sounding single. Set back a give a listen to “Reflections” by Planets, featuring Rae Anna Beauford through SoundCloud – Richard:
Lucy & La Mer’s “Honey, Put Your Weapons Down”
Lucy & La Mer is sharing with out listeners their single “Honey, Put Your Weapons Down”. The sound that Lucy and La Mer developed for this single is a pop/folk mix. It is a serious song with lyrics that speak to a relationship that is hitting a rough spot. There are times when a person has weapons that they don’t realize and this songs mentions them, because when you see the title of this single you see “Weapons” and think guns or something of that type of weapon. However, the “Weapon” that most people don’t realize they weld everyday is their voice. And worst a “Weapon” could be a hand. Even with this heavy subject the rhythm and vocals of this single make it light and able to listen to and hear what is being said. Really a nice job in structuring this single. Lesson’s are easier to absorb when done in a comforting way rather than a harsh way. This is one to listen to, and with that here is Lucy & La Mer’s “Honey, Put Your Weapons Down” through SoundCloud – Richard
Kyle Motsinger’s Music Video for “Midwest Boy”
Kyle Motsinger, with his single “Midwest Boy”, has developed a piece that mixes a couple of time periods. At the beginning of the single the piano gives it a 1920’s feel and Kyle cements that feeling in the music video. The first minute, eight second of the music video feels like a 1920’s movie. After the minute – eight mark the music and video shift into a modern day setting and hits a pop beat that mixes 1970’s and current trends…you can definitely pick up on his theatrical background with this single. I’m sure Kyle is probably pulling from personal past, but his appearance and friendly face makes it hard for him to pull of a hard ridden Midwest boy. It’s a fun single that once it starts clipping along and with the upbeat feel I enjoyed it and hope he carries that upbeat feeling into his other music. Here’s the music video for “Midwest Boy” from Kyle Motsinger’s YouTube channel and then be sure to check out his album Far Away, available June 9, from your digital vendor of choice – Richard:
