Hey everybody. I’m currently packaging the MiniPop we did with C. Michael Hall on his Helldorado trade paperback published by Ape Entertainment. Michelle will then do her sound balancing so it can be uploaded tomorrow morning. The rest of the week I will be taking off to spend with family. The next big movie is rolling out this weekend and that is of course the sequel to the Hunger Games, Catching Fire. I’m sure it will be another hit. Thanks to “CBMTrailers” for the following trailer:
Dreams Come True Inc. is doing a mash-up with Hello Kitty and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The mash-up as you can see above is figures of Hello Kitty dressed up as the different Turtles. These Turtle Kitty’s will come to your rescue for a price and what a price it is. The figures are limited to 1000 pieces and are selling for 7,329 yen or roughly $73.00 a piece.

It’s official. The West Coast and specifically LA’s local music scene is giving Brooklyn a run for it’s money. Want to experience this burgeoning scene for yourself? Look no further than The MuseBox/Reverbnation’s November Residency every Thursday at The Silverlake Lounge!
Continuing on our raucous roll, we have a stacked night for November 21st. Starting the night off is ever eclectic Bur Gur, up from Orange County for the occasion. Then LA’s own Chakita and Lost Midas are up for a one-two punch of sonic electro, while the psych-pop outfit Stout Cortez rounds us out.
The event, powered by The MuseBox, is also in conjunction with ReverbNation, supporting NoKillLA – an organization works to find homes for shelter animals to avoid euthanasia and working towards making LA a NO KILL CITY by 2017. A truly dedicated organization we all strongly believe in.
Ready for the kicker? The stacked night is totally and completely FREE, not even an RSVP needed! That’s four incredible locals acts, one incredible cause, and a typically listless night now taken care of for you.

If you happen to live in France or traveling in France during December and you are looking for places to visit you might want to consider the Igarashi Yumiko: Empress of Shojo Manga exhibit that will be on display. There are no details as to where it will be housed yet, but if you do a search on the web when the date is closer you will locate the exhibit. The exhibit will contain 20 pieces from Igarashi Yumiko. As you are visiting you can also purchase the exhibit pieces if you like one for 450 euros or roughly $605. The exhibit will make a very brief stop in Lyon, on November 30 – December 1, and then the remainder of the time it will be in Paris, December 4 – January 4. Black Butler is a manga series by Yana Toboso and is being release by Yen Press. Great news for the fans of the series in a since. The live action Black Butler is set to be released in Japan, January 18, 2014. The film stars Hiro Mizushima as Sebastian and Ayame Goriki as Shiori, Sebastian’s newest master. The movie is set 130 into the future of the manga series so it is not a straight up adaptation, but could be looked at as a future story for the series. It depends on how one looks at the film. Since Warner Bros. is involved with production I would think that this movie will eventually make it to the North American market either as a dubbed or at least a subtitled movie. Ep 19 ComicPop Visits with the Indie Rock Band Phoenix Ash
The ComicPop Crew spends some time visiting with the members of Phoenix Ash. The band is based out of San Francisco and is an Indie Rock band influenced by Japan’s J-Rock. Phoenix Ash is back on the scene with a new album From Dust and have currently released on their website (see below) “New Journey”, “Stumble and Fall”, and “Last Chance”. There will be more releases forthcoming from the new album and you can also purchase their previous album, Transcend, on their site.
Phoenix Ash has been on a two year hiatus gearing up for this years new album and look for them on the concert circuit beginning this coming Spring. This is a group of great guys and we had a fun time visiting with them. Thanks to Aaron for setting this up.
