Haley Pharo’s Single “Prisoner”

musehaley

I really enjoyed the brief intro of “Prisoner” but I don’t think the feeling stayed for the whole song. It was a little too 90’s R&B for me. Neither the music nor Haley Pharo were very strong and clear. I like it when one or the other is strong so that the song doesn’t end up sounding mushy. I do get where Pharo is trying to go though and she’s on the right track. I liked the lighter melodies going along with a substantial bass, it just needs to be less muggy. Her music has a good beat that people will move to, as long as she keeps going in the direction I hope she is, she’ll do great.

– April B.

This is were everyone can see that music hits people differently.  I enjoyed “Prisoner” and look forward to hearing more from Haley.  However, I am a Child of the ’80s/’90’s, which falls within what April was talking about. Also to me Haley’s voice – not style reminds me of Debbie Gibson’s, but that’s just me.  – Richard

The music video is below so you can check Haley Pharo out yourself.  It comes to us from “Haley Pharo” YouTube channel:

More Bible Action

We happen to have the Action Bible.  This looks like it might be one of the stories that wasn’t placed in the Action Bible.  By the looks of things Caleb Seeling and Sergio Cariello will be doing more pieces from the Bible.  Check out the trailer for their latest edition The Action Bible: The Battle Begins:

MOXXI’s Single “Ransom”

museMOXXI

MOXXI is a very unique individual, and am I the only one that thinks of YouTube’s Boxxy whenever you say her name? lol Anyways, I thought MOXXI’s song “Ransom” was overall very good. Usually I’m not a fan of electronic music but because this song had a lower sound to it I really enjoyed it. MOXXI herself I was torn about; I didn’t mind her voice not being as clear because the music was clear and she sang in a comfortable register but I couldn’t understand her words. The vibe for “Ransom” was also a little confusing and I didn’t enjoy it very much. I couldn’t make sense of the video but I think if I understood MOXXI’s words it would make more sense.

– April B.

This song is definitely one you will hear at a nightclub.  MOXXI, I believe is intentionally blending her voice with the music.  It doesn’t sound bad, but it does make it hard to hear the lyrics as April commented on. – Richard

The video for “Ransom” is for limited distribution so we can’t show it here, but if you want to listen to the song and watch the music video you can find it on YouTube.

The Slants and Trademarking Their Band Name

Something a little extra about The Slants that didn’t come out in our visit with Simon.  The visit will be posted next, but Simon’s attempts to get The Slants name trademark have been stymied by the government.  Watch the video below, from “The Slants” YouTube channel, to get a little extra information set to their song “Let the Right One In”:

Land of Stories Intro with Chris Colfer Video

Just wanted to share this video even though it is a few years old.  This Land of Stories series just recently came out with it’s third book and I think most audiences would enjoy it.  Don’t let the Glee factor scare you off.  Thanks to the “Little, Brown Books for Young Readers” channel on YouTube for the video:
