We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
Oulipo’s, “Blue Flames” has a great beat that visually stimulates the listener. For me what I immediately went to in my head was a series or film in the vain of a Miami Vice. “Blue Flames” has definitely sparked my interest in Oulipo and will see what else they will be releasing. Here is Jennie Vee’s single from her upcoming EP Spying, “Lips Like Sugar”. I haven’t listened to the complete EP yet, but with this single Jennie blends her voice in with the instruments. I’m not sure if this is going to be ongoing or if the blending is just for this single. With this style it really had a feel like something the Bangles would have put out back in the day. Yes I made a Bangles reference, nothing wrong with that, I enjoyed the Bangles and I enjoyed Jennie’s “Lips Like Sugar”. There was also a nice mid-section where the guitar got a nice solo in which doesn’t always happen these days.
