We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
Sometimes you just have to have fun. A company in Japan has fashioned a tank vase inspired from the anime Girls und Tanks. The vase is from a scene in which character Hana Isuzu made such an arrangement. This vase was limited to only 100 pieces and quickly sold out on pre-order, for 12,960 Yen or approximately $108. I don’t know if I would spend that much on this, but it is a fun item to see made.
We are back! After two weeks of re-carpeting, we are back! To begin the new posts we have a fun one. At the Tokyo Marathon they coordinators had a life-size Patlabor AV-98 Ingram on hand to cheer on runners.

Classically trained violinist, Lindsey Stirling, likes to have fun with her music. She has done several covers that include Dragon Age, Legend of Zelda, Halo, Assassin’s Creed, and now Hatsune Miku’s “Senbonzakura” The music video she did for “Senbonzakura” is also very nice and artistic in nature. Universal Studios Japan opens it’s latest park attraction that features Attack on Titan. Just another reason I would love to visit Japan. MAi DIGi provides a video through their YouTube channel:
The village of Hibiki in Oyama, Oita, has produced a new season of wine that is Attack on Titans inspired. The wine is plum wine and will feature artwork from series creator Hajime Isayama. The special connection this all has is that Isayama’s hometown is Hibiki. The artwork on the bottles when set side by side will form an image of Levi and Erwin. If you have a friend that lives in Japan and can get these for you or you happen to be over there and happen to find them they will set you back 3.780 Yen or approximately $32.00.
Some J-Pop/Rock love. Nana Mizuki’s “Eden” came out this last week of January 12 – 18 and ranked #2 on the Oricon’s CD single chart. During this time the some sold 43,413 copies. Below you can see the short version of the music video of “Eden” through YouTube:
Yano Research has finished a report that gives the digital content numbers for the last year in Japan. In the digital book category, approximately 65 Billion Yen or 540 Million Dollars was spent on digital manga. This accounts for 80% of the overall digital book market. If only people in the United States would shed the concept of comic books only for kids, we could have a bigger interest here.
Disgaea fans here’s one for you. The newest Makai Denki Disgaea 5 game is coming out March 26, for the PlayStation 4. Until then Nippon Ichi Software is wetting your appetites by streaming the main theme to the game. The theme is entitled “Kill Real” by Mamoru Miyano. Check it out through their YouTube channel:
