Videotopia at Exploration Place

The new exhibit, in Wichita, Kansas’ Exploration Place, is going to be entitled “Videotopia”.  This collection is a traveling exhibit that gives the history of the video game and has several video games on display that any gamer will know and recognize.  Even those that aren’t hard core gamers will recognize games from their past.  The exhibit will open, this Saturday, September 29 and run through January 1, 2013.  So start making your plans to attend!  Follow the link below to Exploration Place’s webpage for the exhibit.

New Pokemon Movie

Let all your Pokemon fans know that the next Pokemon movie will be shown on Cartoon Network on December 8th.  The movie is Pokemon the Movie: Kyurem vs. The Sword of Justice.  You will also want to put this on your purchasing list for when it comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray.  Thanks to ICv2 and pokemon, through YouTube for the following trailer:

One Piece on PS3

Pokemon Still Strong

There will be more Pokemon cards coming in November.  Librarians that have gamers will want to pass this along.  The cards are part of the Pokemon, Black & White: Boundaries Crossed expansion decks.  There will be 140 new cards, 4 ACE SPEC cards, and 6 Pokemon-EX cards with this set.  The cards will be available in theme decks and booster packs.  So go out and “catch them all!”

Return of the Duelist

For libraries that have Yu-Gi-Oh gaming there’s a new box coming out, Yu-Gi-Oh: Return of the Duelist.  The pack is scheduled for release on September 25.  It will come with three booster packs and 1 or 2 super rare cards, either “T.G. Hyper Librarian” or “Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction” card.  The suggested retail price will be $9.99.  Let your TCG gamers now so they can start looking for the boxes or this could be something the library uses as a give-away during one of the your Yu-Gi-Oh gaming events.

Mass Effect Trailer

New Card Game

Shadows Over Camelot: The Card Game, by Days of Wonder, is one that libraries that have a strong gaming community might want to consider picking up.  The game can be played by 1 up to 7 players and is a stand alone game that lasts about 20 minutes.  So this would be great for a gaming day in the library.  It is scheduled for an October release date and has a suggested retail price of $25.00.  For more information follow the link below:

History of Zelda

Dark Horse Comics will be publishing The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia Encyclopedia.  It is scheduled for release on January 16, 2013.  The Encyclopedia will be a full history of Zelda, it will be in color and have an introduction by Shigeru Miyamoto.  This is one that will be of interest for your Zelda players and video gamers as well.

New Sonic Video Game Trailer

For libraries with gaming collections this is one you will want to put on your radar, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.  SegaAmerica started streaming the following trailer on their YouTube channel.  The video game will be available on multi platfroms: Xbox 360; PlayStation 3; PlayStation Vita; and Nintendo 3DS.  It’s release date is November 16, for Europe, and November 20 for the North American markets.  Check out the trailer below:
