MORE ON DAVID LEE:

David Lee was born on October 12, 1986 in Seoul, South Korea. His family moved to the United States when he was
8 years old, and while growing up in Fairfax, VA, Lee discovered new music through Napster when the music sharing
site first appeared. Subsequently, Lee borrowed a friend’s guitar and fell in love with the instrument. Since picking up
the guitar at age 17, Lee has lived a life reflective of his passion. Devoting himself to writing and performing, he quickly
forged a path that would lead to the recording of his debut album, Without Any Guard. The title track was inspired by his
reckless pursuit of music and the obstacles he faced along the way.
Without Any Guard by David Lee will be released on February 12, 2013. Listen out now for the first single “We’re All
Meant for Something Good” impacting December 2012.

NOVI , born Carolyne Neuman, is a new artist on the fast-track to stardom. Listeners everywhere agree – the electro-pop galaxy has a bright new star. Her distinct sound is smooth and full of catchy hooks that anyone would envy, and playful, tantalizing lyrics (“I had barflies sipping on my motherf#*king drink”) that will leave NOVI“peddling back” through your mind all day long.

Her debut EP, Now I’m Here, was released to the world in Fall 2011, following the track and video premiere for her first single, “Blackbirds.” The hit song, made waves after premiering on Arjan Writes, and it piqued the interest of music fans everywhere. The video premiered soonafter to rave reviews on Pop Matters and was also featured on the AOL Music homepage. Novi’s originality is eclectic enough to hit the chords of any music lover in the galaxy.  The suave, electro-pop sounds that emanate from the speakers are a compulsive rise and fall of beats that capture listeners, hook, line, and sinker. AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight is on the Connichi 2010 1st Place winner for “Confession to the Dancefloor”.  This AMV was uploaded by YouTuber “Giang Le Phan Linh”.  The AMV takes the song “Remedy” performed by Little Boots and edits several different Shogo Anime.  The edited scenes fit almost perfectly for the song.  What I really liked about this AMV, more than anything else, was it’s use of having parts in black and white with highlights of color and then shifting into the full color parts.  The black and white sections remind me of when I’m reading Manga and the splashes of color I think are really classy.  For me the imagery takes over the AMV and the song is secondary.  I can see why this one was a winner, great job!  You can watch it on YouTube under “[Connichi 2010 1st place] Confession To The Dancefloor – Remedy – Little Boots” or check it out below:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight is on YouTuber “misterhalf22”.  The song “Still Dreaming” performed by Silverstein and edits it around scenes from Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple.  The editing is done really well and the song fits the show.  The main draw back, as in some AMV’s is that subtitles are present in the edited scenes.  For me this is a little bit of a distraction that can be eliminated by a couple of clicks of a controller.  If you want to add in text or different background to augment the AMV that is one thing, but leaving subtitles in, for me, is distracting.  Otherwise I liked the video.  Check it out below:
