AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber LadySilverWings.  LadySilverWings took the song “At the Beginning” performed by Richard Marx and Donna Lewis and edited it around scenes from Chrono Crusade.  This is an older AMV, but still worthy of mention.  The editing is done cleanly and if you know the story of Chrono Crusade (Manga or Anime) you know this song fits perfectly and it will bring back your feelings you were having at the end all over again.  For those of you that don’t know the story I highly recommend you read the manga or watch the anime, then come back a watch the AMV, because it will make the impact of the AMV much better.  Great job on your selection and editing LadySilverWings and thank you YouTube of the video, you can find it under “Chrono Crusade – Within My Heart” or watch it below.

Lorax Trailer

Another movie for all of your animation fans to get ready for, this weekend, is Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.  Looks to be a fun movie.  Thanks to YahooMovies for the trailer.

Comic-Con Documentary

For those of us that will never get to Comic-Con, Comic-Con Episode IV A Fan’s Hope might be as close as we get.  The documentary will have a very limited release and will get most of it’s money from Blu-Ray/DVD sales.  This would be one for a library to get, so patrons that have expressed an interest in the convention can see what it would be like.  Thanks to ICv2 and YouTuber “movieclipsTRAILERS” for the trailer below.

Gaming Art at the Smithsonian

If your library is in the D.C. area you will definitely want to let your gamers know about this upcoming exhibit at the Smithsonian Art Museum.  During March 16 – September 30 the Smithsonian will have an exhibit entitled “The Art of Video Games”.  During it’s opening weekend they will be having an additional event “GameFest”.  During “GameFest”, on March 17, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. the Art Museum will host Metal Gear Solid’s game series designer Hideo Kojima in the McEvoy Auditorium.  Follow the second link below to the Smithsonian’s Exhibitions page for more information.

Skylanders are Sky High

Yahoo reports that six chase figures of Skylanders sold for over $1,000.  I’m currently working on episode 13 and we have 14 and 15 waiting in the wings and in episode 14 ComicPop Library reviews Skylanders.  As the article says if people are paying this amount it is definitely a hit at this time.  We’ll see over the next year or two if it has staying power.

K-ON! Series Two go’s to Sentai

Sentai Filmworks has announced that they have licensed the second season of K-ON!  So all you K-ON fans rejoice.  I speculate that it will probably be released during the third or fourth quarter of the year.  So if you have an anime section within your library mark your calendars to begin looking for the ordering information and get it to your purchasing department as soon as you get it.
