J-Popping!

Here’s a great talking point for you to discuss music with your J-Pop fans that come into the library.  If they don’t already know last night was the 53rd Annual Japan Record Awards.  Last night the J-Pop, all girls group, AKB48 won their first major award by winning  the top honor for the year for the show.  AKB48’s  won for their song “Flying Get”, which is the Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e ~ Ikemen Paradise 2011 theme song.  Congradulations to the group and thanks to AnimeNews Network and YouTube for the video below featuring the song.

A Theater’s Darkest Hour

This looks to be the only movie I could find that might be of interest for your patrons that like Science Fiction/Horror.  Thanks to YahooMovies for the trailer.

AMV of the Week

This week’s AMV comes from YouTuber Vinchila.  Vinchila takes the song “Save the Last Dance For Me” performed by The Drifters and edits in images from cut scenes of Final Fantasy VIII video game.  I thought with this weekend being New Year’s this was a good choice for this week’s AMV.  The editing is top notch with overlays throughout the video.  A very nice job of editing to go with a classic song.  You can check out the AMV on YouTube under “You Can Dance – FFVIII” or watch it below.  Everyone have a safe and Happy New Year.

Last but not Least, Ghost Protocol

The last entry that I believe will be of interest for the ComicPop Library crowd is Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. It looks to be a straight up action movie to have fun with.  Thanks again to YahooMovies! for the trailer below.

Girl with the Dragoon Tattoo

This is one that my family will probably skip.  Not because it will be a bad movie, but because we have already seen the trilogy, that was translated from Swedish, and we don’t want to make comparisons between the two.  If you have not read the books or seen the original movies, it’s a good story, however it does have it’s slow moments.  Thanks to YahooMovies! for the trailer below.

Adventures of Tin Tin

For your patrons that like animation here is the most recent offering, The Adventures of Tin Tin, opens this weekend.  Thanks to YahooMovies! for the trailer below.
